Product Variances & Tolerances
Why does the colour look different from what I see online?
Natural leather colour may vary due to:
- Screen and device display differences
- Lighting conditions
- Natural hide characteristics
- Tannery batch variations
While we aim for consistency, minor colour variation is normal and expected.
Why does the leather grain or texture differ between products?
Leather is a natural material and each hide is unique.
Variations may include:
- Grain pattern
- Pore structure
- Natural markings
- Wrinkles or growth lines
These characteristics are inherent to leather and are not considered defects.
What tolerances should I expect?
Handcrafted production involves human processes, so minor variations are normal.
Acceptable tolerances may include:
- Slight differences in width, thickness or overall dimensions
- Minor variations in stitch spacing, alignment or angle
- Small differences in edge finishing or surface texture
These do not affect durability or wearability. However, if a variance in dimensions prevents a proper fit, please contact us for assessment and rectification.
Is ageing, patina or wear over time considered a defect?
Leather is designed to age and develop character with use.
Over time, you may notice:
- Darkening or colour shift
- Creasing and softening
- Surface patina from wear and exposure
These changes are natural characteristics of leather and are not considered defects.
What is considered a defect?
A defect is limited to:
- Structural failure due to workmanship under normal use
- Hardware failure not caused by misuse, abuse or accidental damage
- Issues that prevent normal wearability upon receipt
All defect assessments are made at our sole discretion.
